Our second endowed scholarship is the AAUW Centennial Scholarship which benefits female students who have completed at least one semester at Yavapai College and have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference will be given to students selecting a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) curriculum.
The Centennial Scholarship was established in 2012, Arizona’s Centennial year, and has distributed $6,648 (December 2023) since its establishment using the return on investments and interest income. Eight scholarships have been funded to date.
Contributions to the fund are tax-deductible. The Yavapai College Foundation provides a secure website for online donations to named scholarship funds, including the AAUW Centennial Scholarship.
On the Yavapai College Foundation website, choose “One-Time Donation” or “Recurring Donation.” Enter a specific amount. In the “Select a Fund” box, choose AAUW Centennial Scholarship. Then scroll down and enter the Donor information. We continue to plan fundraisers to grow this fund. We are working with Yavapai College which has been given a significant grant to increase and strengthen its STEM curricula. These fields are vital to America’s success as we work to increase our presence in the evolving global economy. To achieve this goal, our students must have the financial resources required to obtain the education essential for success in their chosen careers.
