COMMUNITY ACTION

Each of our Community Action projects is AAUW mission-based and aimed towards encouraging and assisting women and girls to succeed in their pursuit of education.

The Sister to Sister  program supports first-generation college-bound students and encourages them to complete high school and continue beyond.

The Reality Store® is a half-day simulated program that introduces adolescents to the real cost of living in an occupation of their choice. In this event, students make “decisions” about educational paths, career options, lifetime mates, and family timing, giving them an opportunity to have a more sophisticated view of options for their futures.

Girls Rocket Day gives our AAUW Prescott members an opportunity to assist with the Girls Rock-It Day event held annually at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Most Community Action projects/events are on hold until Yavapai County Covid-19 numbers have substantially improved.
