Scholarships and Events

There are three AAUW Prescott Scholarships. The newest one is the Prescott Opportunity Award administered by the Branch. The other two scholarships that AAUW Prescott has created, are both under the auspices of the Yavapai College Foundation. Donors can contribute to any fund by following the instructions. Please click on the scholarship link at the end of each paragraph for detailed descriptions of these excellent awards for the women in our community.

AAUW Prescott Opportunity Award

New Opportunity Award Approved by the AAUW Prescott Board on October 12, 2023. Since our main scholarships are so well-funded, the Scholarship Committee, with Board approval, is initiating a new award, the AAUW Prescott Opportunity Award.

It will be administered by AAUW Prescott rather than through YC Foundation and will be available for educational opportunities such as conferences, seminars, special presentations, etc.  There will be a maximum $500 per award.

Recipients will be chosen by the Scholarship Committee chair[s] and two members of the Scholarship Committee. They will be asked to give a short presentation, in person or via video, at an AAUW meeting, describing the experience and what they gained from it.

To donate to this new initiative, send checks to the AAUW-Prescott Treasurer, P.O. Box 10881, Prescott, AZ 86301, with “Opportunity Award” on the memo line. You can also donate using PayPal.  We hope our membership will support this award to enhance educational experiences for women students.
